WOODY ALLEN'S SHARK is a collection of eight short plays about relationships. Some are funny, some are serious, some are slightly rude. The plays have all been performed on stage in either the UK, Europe and/or the USA.

I have to admit I purchased this book thinking it was written by Woody Allen. I soon realized my mistake, and was pleasantly surprised. Woody Allen's Shark is eight short plays that range from four to fifteen minutes. I really like Jonathan's writing style. Much of the dialogue he writes is very short (sometimes only one word) blurbs that speaks volumes about the characters. All the plays are about relationships, some are very funny, some are very serious. In the play "Guilt" the author uses just dialogue from a son visiting his dad in a nursing home. "Lorelei " is also a single dialogue play that tells the sad story of the character and her struggle through life. Both of these plays are very short, and in my opinion brilliantly written in the way you get only a snap shot of the characters, yet you feel like you know their whole life story. One the humorous side "Dating" is a comedy about Eve and Hope. Two middle age women discussing the trials and tribulations of dating in today's world. "One hundred and Eighty" is a delightful comedy about a darts player that must overcome some personal problems so he can improve his game. So to wrap it all up, this book serves up comedy (some of it is rude-yes), and some plays that are pretty dark. It's all very well written. Formatted excellent for the Kindle, that makes it easy to read. Most of these plays have been performed on the stage.Product details
